The Chromecast device sounded like a pretty sweet deal when I ordered it. And when I received this device yesterday I was so pleased to have my hands on it. The only issue I ran into was trying to set up my device. I had an issue firstly trying to set it up on Windows 7, which I still haven’t figured out. I am not alone with this issue though. Then, when attempting to set it up on my Nexus 7, I ran into another issue, claiming I needed to disable AP/Client isolation. Well in playing around with my router settings, I came across Wireless MAC Filtering and this is where I resolved my issue. (For 2wire routers): If your Chromecast is giving you trouble with AP/Client isolation, then navigate to Settings > LAN > Wireless > Wireless MAC Filtering. From here, enter in the MAC address of your Chromecast that is provided during setup. Make sure this is on the allowed list. – That’s it! It should be working now.
